Since 1906, the West Virginia State Medical Association (WVSMA) has published the West Virginia Medical Journal (WVMJ), a clinical, peer-reviewed medical journal.
The WVMJ tailors its content to a general medical audience. Though it accepts and publishes submissions from specialty medical fields, the writing should be understandable to the general practitioner.
The WVMJ is published as a service for WVSMA members and to disseminate information and education to West Virginia physicians. The journal also serves as a publishing vehicle for West Virginia medical students, residents, and physicians. Priority is given to the state’s physicians, and submissions that include a West Virginia physician or student are preferred. Additionally, the journal looks for data included in the submission that reflects the study or experience was with West Virginia patients.
The WVMJ only accepts original research articles and case reports. All submissions must strictly adhere to the manuscript guidelines.
